Thank you to all who attended or supported our “Rethinking the Role of Chicago’s Parks: Parks as Democracy?” Conference!

“Parks as Democracy?”

At Friends of the Parks, we know the answers lie in your ability participate in democracy itself – the freedom to ask questions, to join together in making communities and parks great, and to converse with and learn from each other. For this reason, we gathered at Roosevelt University with PAC/ PPO members, concerned residents, community activists and organizers, and more to explore and rethink the role of parks in Chicago. The conference featured keynote speakers, expert panels, round table discussions, and small group working sessions to provide participants with essential tools to enhance their blueprint for success in all of our community parks.
