Fiscal Sponsorship Resources
In order to assist advisory councils in their fundraising efforts, Friends of the Parks provides fiscal sponsorship service to park advisory councils to “umbrella” under our 501(c) (3) designation, and take advantage of our non-profit status by naming us as the council’s fiscal sponsor. Local fund raising committees can use our tax-exempt status to raise funds for projects such as playground improvements; this allows their donations to be tax-deductible, and helps them raise significantly more funds towards their project goals. Currently, Friends of the Parks is the fiscal agent for 23 park advisory councils.
Requirements for Fiscal Sponsorship is active membership each year in Friends of the Parks. A Fiscal Sponsorship Advisory Council Membership is $100 each year.
