Join a discussion with Chicago film maker Thomas Comerford as he screens and discuses his documentary film the “The Indian Boundary Line”.  The film takes us on a perceptive tour of Chicago’s Rogers Avenue and the history surrounding it. This contemplative trip down the Indian Boundary Line stops at important sites along the way including Pottowattamie and Indian Boundary Parks, located on the city’s north side.  The film highlights the history of the disputed border that separated the United States’ Louisiana Territory from Indian country—the line over which settlers and the US Army fought the Sauk, Fox, Kickapoo and other tribes for control of the land in the 1832 Black Hawk War.  Presented by Friends of the Parks and the Active Transportation Alliance.

The Creative Living in the City lecture series focuses on issues and initiatives affecting the quality of life in Chicago, such as innovative park design, urban development and environmental conservation. It is presented by Friends of the Parks and the Active Transportation Alliance.
