Dress is cocktail attire. Individual tickets are $225 per person.  Tables of ten are $3,000 and $5,000.  To receive an invitation or learn more about the event, call Nancy Minster Swabb, Events Director, at (312) 857-2757 extension 11.

Proceeds benefit Friends of the Parks

Your participation in the Parks Ball directly supports Friends of the Parks’ work to improve neighborhood parks and children’s playgrounds in Chicago and forest preserves in Cook County.

Friends of the Parks is the only citywide, independent park advocacy organization working on behalf of all Chicago neighborhood parks, playgrounds, the lakefront and forest preserves.  For 35 years, Friends of the Parks has been the strongest voice for the protection, preservation, expansion and improvement of the city’s 7,400 acres of parks and Cook County’s 68,000 acres of forest preserves.

Chicago’s lakefront and neighborhood parks are critical to the health and vitality of our city.  Millions of people depend on our public parks for recreation, fitness, sports, peace, quiet and for social interaction.  Our parks are the most democratic places in the city, spaces where all citizens gather and grow.  Our work ensures that Chicago’s parks are the front and backyards for millions of Chicagoans who walk, jog, play sports, swim, sail, push a stroller or walk a dog.

In 2010, with help from friends like you, we will:

  • Build, with the Chicago Park District, a sorely-needed new children’s playground at Grand Crossing Park (7655 S. Ingleside) in one of Chicago’s neediest neighborhoods;
  • Introduce legislation to implement Phase I of The Last Four Miles, a plan to complete Chicago’s lakefront parks
  • Plant 100 trees

Thank you for your support!
